As a dynamic and highly accomplished professional, with a unique blend of skills, I stand out as an effective leader, known for my critical problem-solving abilities, strategic mindset, and exceptional interpersonal ease.
My professional background includes stints at The Howard Hughes Corporation, PulteGroup, Caprock – a boutique multi-family office, and Blue360 Media as its chief operating officer. My eclectic career began in the university classroom as an adjunct Spanish professor. In fact, if you had asked me all those years ago to picture my future self, the only thing I may have gotten right was that I would be living in the mountains, skiing in the winter and biking in the summer!
I hold a master’s degree in Latin American Political Economy and an MBA in International Management. You can find me at john@personalysis.com.
Living in Park City, Utah means that the mountains are always calling! The downside? The true number of skis and bikes that should populate my quiver will always be N+1.
Coach, executive consultant, education and organizational development specialist, facilitator, coaching supervisor, mediation.
As a leader, I know that great leadership relies on the ability to develop others and create a sustainable culture of powerful teamwork. The passion I have for the care of others is shared by the entire Personalysis family. United in purpose, our team aspires to excellence in customer service.
As an executive coach, I leverage 40+ years of experience empowering leaders, emerging leaders and teams toward operational excellence through effective working relationships. Research shows that teams comprised of diverse thinking and social styles as well as interests are more productive, creative and return a higher quality of work. I am most proud of my success in helping people learn to understand, appreciate and ultimately value differences in personality style so they can work together better.
In my experience self-awareness is a critical success factor in any endeavor. I have thoroughly enjoyed using the Personalysis assessment to assist people to identify the behaviors they use to be their best self. With this awareness, a person can begin to assess their impact on others and notice style differences. It is very rewarding to guide people as they learn how to build relationships that leverage strengths, empower differences and become greater in their togetherness. This is especially effective when working with hybrid and remote teams.
I hold a M.Ed. in Adult Education from North Carolina State University and a BA from the University of Minnesota. I am certified in Coaching Supervision from CSA UK, Crucial Conversation, mediation and facilitation.
I enjoy travel especially when focused on historical sites. I am an avid reader with a universal taste which includes science, history, biography, social sciences, religion & spirituality, classics, historical fiction, and steampunk!

As a Certified Coach and Master Personalysis Practitioner, I help individuals improve interpersonal effectiveness and make progress on their goals. Seeing clients understand themselves better and grow in their capabilities is extremely rewarding. One of my favorite quotes is by John C. Maxwell: “Change is inevitable. Growth is optional.”

I am most passionate about having an impact on others’ achievements, assisting in their ability to be their best self. My work at Personalysis has aligned beautifully with this, as the assessment is so rich and valuable. I continue to learn more about myself and others each time I interact with a profile. I call it the gift that keeps on giving! At this time in my career, I am most interested in using the assessment for team and executive leadership development.
The team here at Personalysis is like family. Everyone, I believe, has the same values and vision – helping people grow by becoming self-aware, as well as understanding and valuing our differences, to be the best version of self.
I love being at the beach late in the day, watching beautiful sunsets; I enjoy shopping of any kind and can last the entire day. I also love spending time with my six grandkids; Dancing is my favorite form of exercise and stress reliever.
I spent a month in the Philippines onboarding newly acquired employees. I also took Tango lessons in Buenos Aires!

The skills developed by launching my own startup has been an invaluable experience that I carry forward in all my work. I enjoy discovering new places with the spirit of a pilgrim. Hiking is one of my favorite activities. The individuals I encounter on my travels are incredibly hospitable. It’s a joy to share meals with them and learn about their life and culture, which inevitably leads to sharing recipes to try when I return home!
I completed a three-week solo hike on the Camino del Norte along the northern coast of Spain and on to the Atlantic Ocean. Sometimes it’s not what you learn on pilgrimage that’s important, but what you unlearn.
